New Organizers

Welcome New and Prospective Organizers! 

If you are a new organizer or considering whether to become a professional organizer but need more information, we can help.

STEP 1: Register to attend our next Prospective Organizer Meeting (POM). These meetings are held the first month of each quarter, directly before a chapter meeting. For more information, visit our POM Meeting page.  

STEP 2: Attend an upcoming chapter meeting and introduce yourself to our other visitors and members. We are a very friendly and collaborative group. Our educational programs are stellar and we provide plenty of time before and after meetings to network. Some of our members offer business coaching and workshops.  NOTE: You may visit our chapter meetings as many times as you'd like (for a visitor fee of $30/meeting) before deciding to become a member.

STEP 3: If you have not done so already, please visit the NAPO National website and find out about membership requirements. In order to join our NAPO-SD chapter, you must first be a confirmed member of NAPO National.

STEP 4: While visiting the NAPO National website, check out the many educational opportunities as well. 

STEP 5:  When you attend our POM meeting, ask as many questions as time allows for. At that time, you will have the opportunity to sign up as an Apprentice for on-the-job training with one or more of our experienced organizers.

STEP 6:  For more information on how to start a small business, we recommend you utilize the resources at The San Diego Small Business Association and the Society Core Of Retired Executives
