Biographical Info

At Higher Order, we believe that home is more than just a house. Home is a state of mind – a way of being where your physical space meets your internal state. Home is the expression of your authentic self that is reflected in the places you live, work, rest, and play. We believe you deserve the joy of walking through your own front door into a space that is genuinely YOU.

And guess what? We also believe that when you are asked the right questions, you have all the answers. Together, we identify the “stuff behind the stuff”. We peel back the layers of limiting beliefs and design action steps to reduce the barriers to your ideal order. We use what is important in your life to light the path forward. Because home is just as much the journey as it is the destination, and we will be by your side all the way there.

Amy Gardiner started organizing for her busy mom friends in late 2013 as a means to generate some cash while her youngest daughter was in pre-school. When she saw the tremendous value her work brought not just to those she helped, but how it impacted the whole family, she knew she had found her calling. Combining her education in interior design, lifelong learning to get and stay organized during many military moves, love of personal growth, pursuit of the concept of “home”, and the deep desire to make a difference, Higher Order was born.

Amy is a trained ADHD/Organizer Coach and experienced Professional Organizer and consultant. She is an active member of NAPO and has served two years on the board of directors for her local chapter. She hosts online decluttering challenges and volunteers on the Students with Disabilities Task Force for her daughter’s school. Amy has completed an ICF-accredited Organizer Coach training program and continues her course study in ADHD coaching; she has a two-year certificate of study in interior design and holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Amy lives in San Diego with her two daughters, twin cats, and a vintage travel trailer that, like life, is always a work in progress.
